Building on the crosswalks between the ACRL Framework and library standards and education standards documented by the Information Literacy for Educators committee in 2018-2019, the committees above:

  • Gathered information about best practices in applying the ACRL Framework to the discipline of education.
  • Consulted with the EBSS Social Work Committee about the development of the Social Work companion document and the EBSS Communication Studies Committee about their Journalism companion document.
  • Worked in small groups to make connections with each Frame to Social Justice, Digital Media Literacy, and Metacognition.
  • Reviewed standards and selected the International Society for Technology in Education Standards (ISTE) and the Interstate Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium Standards (InTASC) from the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) along with the Association of American Colleges & Universities (AAC&U) Value Statements as those with which to identify relationships with the Frames.
  • Sought out stakeholders in academic librarianship and education, held workshops, and administered surveys about the Companion Document. Revised document based on feedback.
