Recruit community college mentors February 11 - March 7, 2025
Mid-March, CJCLS Mentoring Program Committee meets and selects 2025-2026 mentors
By the end of March 2025 Mentors receive program participation confirmation email from the Committee
Mentor training from April - May 2025
The call for 2025-2026 Mentee Application will begin in mid to late August 2025
Mentees receive program participation confirmation email from the Committee
Mid-September, CJCLS Mentoring Program Committee meets and begins mentor-mentee pairing
End of September, CJCLS Mentoring Program Committee emails final mentor-mentee pairing to all
October 2025, CJCLS Mentoring Program Kick-Off Meeting
The Committee has also learned that mentees need to be aware of their role as a mentee
Kick-Off meeting will cover the role of the mentee
During September’s 2025 CJCLS Committee Meeting, we will do our best to match prospective mentees with their mentors, and then help you establish goals and expectations with a provided worksheet and share your CV with your mentee and likewise share the mentee’s application with information about their interest in mentorship.

Do you consider yourself an experienced community college librarian or administrator? Would you like to share your knowledge and insight about the profession with a colleague working at a community college or a current MLIS/MSLS graduate student interested in community college librarianship?
The call for mentor applications for the 2025-2026 (October 2025 - June 2026) Mentoring Program is now closed.
Mentors are not required to be CJCLS members and the minimum requirement for participating in the program includes:
Applications will be accepted from February 11 to March 7, 2025. Be sure to have an updated copy of your CV or resume ready to upload before you begin your application.
During the fall of 2024, the CJCLS Mentoring Program Committee has reflected on the program's success and how to improve the program for future cohorts. Through feedback from mentors and mentees in past and present cohorts, the Committee will continue to offer mentor training to support the success of mentoring relationships. This year’s mentor cohort will receive guidance on the following:
