  • Acceptance and rejection rates
  • How long the journal has been publishing
  • Where (in which databases) a journal is indexed
  • How widely the journal is circulated - number of subscribers, libraries that own it
  • How the journal is reviewed - blind peer-review, editorial panel, single editor
  • Intended journal audience - academia, trade, or both
  • JCR Impact Factor (ISI Impact Factor from Journal Citation Reports)
