Health Sciences Interest Group Resources

If you are a member of ALA/ACRL, you should already have access to ALA Connect using your normal ALA credentials.

Below are instructions on how to double-check that you are a member of HSIG Community within ALA Connect.

1. Access ALA/ACRL Connect and login to your ALA account using the link at the top right-hand corner of the screen.
2. One you are logged in, click on Communities from the top menu, then select Interest Groups.
3. Scroll through the list to the Health Sciences Interest Group.
   1. If you are already a member, there will be a grey "member" tag displayed
   2. If you are not already a member, you will see a blue "join" button on the right side
4. Use the Community Notifications settings (under My Connect) to manage your listserv emails.

If you are not a member of ALA/ACRL, you can create a guest account within ALA Connect to participate in the HSIG.  You do not have to join ALA/ACRL to participants in the HSIG ALA Connect Community.

Below are instructions on how to create an ALA Connect guest account.  There is also a brief video you can watch below.

1. Access ALA/ACRL Connect and click on the login link at the top right-hand corner of the screen.  You will be directed to a page with three options below the Login button, one of which allows you to create a free guest account: "Don't yet have an ALA account? Make one!"
2. In the next window, enter your email address and last name.  This system will confirm whether you have an account in the system already.  If an account exists, you will be given password recovery options.
3. For a new account, complete the contact details.  Save changes once complete.
4. Login to Connect, accept the Code of Conduct, and select the Join Community button on the community you would like to join.  You can also ask the admin to send an invite link via email.
