Science and Technology Section (STS): About Our Officers

This is a guide for current and potential offers in the Science and Technology (STS) Section of ACRL

Duties

1. Serves as an officer of the section and assists in advancing the goals and objectives of the section in accordance with ACRL strategic directions and priorities.

2. Working with the Chair and the STS Executive Committee, coordinates work on selected goals and projects for STS leadership.

3. Attends meetings of the STS Council, including regular virtual meetings throughout the year and meetings at the Annual Conference. Note, newly elected Members-at-Large are expected to attend the Annual Conference immediately preceding the taking of office.

4. Serves as liaison between select STS committee project work and STS Executive.

5. Assists the Chair with social and networking events for STS, including events at conferences.

6. At the request of the Chair or Vice-Chair, represents STS leadership at meetings when the chair and vice-chair are unable to attend.

Calendar

Month Responsibilities
Immediately following Annual Conference Begin term of office at the close of the final day of the Annual Conference. 
July Between conferences, stay in touch with STS Executive Board.
August - December Attend STS Executive meetings and work on assigned projects and/or liaison work.
January Attend STS Executive and Council meetings.
February - June Attend STS Executive meetings and work on assigned projects and/or liaison work.
July Attend STS Executive and Council meetings at the Annual Conference.
