ACRL/EBSS Psychology Committee

This guide is designed to provide new and experienced psychology librarians with basic information about services and resources commonly provided by psychology librarians in the academic setting.

Introduction

This section is a collection of resources, tools, and other information to support information professionals conducting and assisting with evidence synthesis. The goal is to introduce basic understanding and steps in the evidence synthesis process typically supported by psychology librarians.

Evidence syntheses are a group of research methods that allows researchers to bring together all relevant information on a research question. This involves extensive search strategies, a team of researchers, and strict protocol to allow for reproducibility.

As research in psychology using scoping reviews, systematic reviews or meta-analysis grows, resources in this area will be valuable for library professionals in the social sciences. If you would like to add psychology- focused resources to this page, please contact the Psychology Committee Chair.

LibGuides

The scope (pun intended) of this page is to familiarize psychology librarians with some of the resources available to learn more about review and evidence synthesis work. Here you’ll find guides that either present related information in the area of evidence synthesis in a clear understandable way or directly support activities psychology librarians are working on within their campus communities.
